James and Jane Jennings


 

No.1 Queen Street, Mornington

James Jennings was born at Limehouse near London in 1821 and came to the Colonies in 1851.

He married Jane Harriet Masters at Richmond in 1853 - there were no children to the marriage. He died on the 7th August 1872 at his home Main Street Mornington.

James lived (1 Queen St) next door to his shop which was on the corner of Main Street and Queen Street, he is buried in Moorooduc Cemetery on the 10th August 1872.

After his death Jane Jennings continued to operate the shop and to occupy the house until 1881 when the title passed over to Richard Baines Bridge.

Jane Jennings died in Richmond in 1904 aged 84 years and is buried in the Moorooduc Cemetery.
